1N High Throughput (HT) Thruster

Technical Overview

The 1N HT thruster was designed focusing on providing a high reliability, high throughput, and high-performance thruster suitable for spacecraft primary and/or auxiliary propulsion applications. Typical applications for this thruster size are apogee engines, orbit insertion engines, attitude control, and momentum wheel desaturation. The 1N HT thruster leveraging materials and processes developed for the flight proven 0.1N thruster. The 1N TVA provides thrust via momentum transfer, through the controlled catalytic and thermal decomposed ASCENT propellant. The catalyst bed must be pre-heated to a suitable temperature to permit the initial reaction to occur. Once the reaction is initiated, it can be sustained without additional heat provided by the heater. The flow of propellant is controlled by the flow control valve (FVC). The thrust level is controlled by the inlet feed pressure of propellant.
